WITHOUT religion, we remain in a war against ourselves, dissecting reality with a ruthless scalpel, disparaging hope, ridiculing love and insisting we can handle the burden of life and death all by ourselves, Titleforever dissing the reassuring comfort of a true belief as delusional, manipulative thought control.

WITH religion, we trade truth for comfort, and can be certain of our every action, without bothering to wonder if it’s right or wrong. This allows us to have no second thoughts about the people we put in the ground for righteous reasons that also happen to be profitable. True believers never have to peek around the corner at that shadow of hypocrisy that our religious leaders tell us is just the cost of doing business within the sacred realm.

So which one is the real lie? Or are they both the truth? And will we ever get past the bloody dance of death that both produce?

Could humanity’s true task of evolution be a third way, in which the smug sadism of holy power and the frustrating discomfort of empirical investigation are transcended and melded in some way into a broader understanding that actually nurtures life, rather than the way it is now — the reckless, thoughtless consumption and eradication of living things whose purpose we have never bothered to comprehend?

On one side of the coin, you are so convinced you are going to heaven that you can kill all those people who get in your way, those unenlightened pagans, without a second thought. The inculcated fantasy of eternal life allows our hallowed leaders to underpin the systems that run the world with rarely talked about rituals of raping children and turning churches into banks, even as the general mass of bowed heads remains oblivious to the secret crimes of these sick gooks.

On the other side of what passes for the world’s epistemological currency are those who believe we can build a better human by discarding all the world’s mythologies and disregarding all the freighted rituals we have come to know as our personalities, except that virtually everyone who proposes such sweeping changes is a Jew double talker more interested in taking control of people’s wallets rather than helping them live more comfortably.

The third side that generally takes control once the political wheels of war get rolling are those unfortunates who are just in it for the money, and will kill anyone they’re told to if the price is right. There are so many truly poor people in the world that there is never a shortage of these kinds of troops, so that those with the cash have no trouble keeping the wars going forever.

This is precisely the swamp in which the world’s superstitious humans are now mired. Both theories claim to offer a path to an existential ecstasy, yet the evidence of centuries shows each philosophy is a direct route to hell on Earth. It’s either the Roman Empire or the Soviet Union, and both roads portend senseless drivel and mass death.

Rule 1 of human existence. We are only the sum of people we have met in this lifetime. What we have learned from them becomes who we are. Why is it, then, that in making our choices we gather only what we need for ourselves? Is it because we die alone? Is it because we have forgotten that we have been shaped by others? As we abandon everyone else in the hour of our demise, whether this has been for our own good is the toughest question we will ever have to answer.

We don’t make things up of our own accord. Ideas are presented to us that shape our lives, and we either accept them and incorporate them into our way of living, or throw them into the trash along with all the other things we find too preposterous to believe. Sometimes when you least expect it, the seeds of trust you have cast to the wind are returned to you on a mysterious breeze of gratitude that keeps you believing in some kind of cosmic order, as this story from a grateful reader recently did to me.

But whether they will stop the annihilation of life on Earth is entirely up to you to decide.

The scales of fear and trust

George Orwell attended a literary meeting in 1946 that focused on the 300th anniversary of an obscure John Milton essay about freedom of the press. Orwell remarked dryly that none of the featured speakers dared mention books that had been banned during the war. (WW II ended in 1946.) Ironic hypocrisy is all too common as people often pretend to talk about something that they never really address.

The freedom to write what you want — otherwise known as intellectual liberty — is under attack from two wings, Orwell explained.

The status quo controlled by the very rich is the obvious enemy, but the people who could benefit from the truth yet simply don’t care about it are the real reason that the world is in a shambles and not about to be straightened out any time soon, he concluded.

I thought of all these things during the recent interview with Edward Snowden by NBC anchorman Brian Williams, during which Snowden insisted plenty of evidence existed for the U.S. government to have thwarted the 9/11 attacks — WHICH completely blew Snowden’s credibility higher than a Fukushima rooftop since the 9/11 hijacker story was a total fraud meant to cover up the demolition of the Twin Towers by neocon power brokers, and this watershed event was certainly not accomplished by fake Muslim amateur pilots.

This means for certain that Snowden, darling of much of the world for his apparent heroics, is an actor in a larger script that seeks to reinforce a version of history that is not quite accurate, and being presented through Greenwald and his accomplices as something the movers and shakers want everyone to know but is not quite the whole truth.

Given his derogatory remarks about Nazis, it’s difficult at this late date to tell how much Orwell (a.k.a. Eric Blair) knew about the real world, despite the realistic predictions he put forth in his magnum opus “1984″, many of which have come to pass in the real world. It seems certain, however, that Orwell did not have a specific idea that the world wars and the creepy society he predicted that has come to pass would be generated from the nightmare prescriptions of the Talmud, and a worldwide network of social saboteurs better known as the Jewish community.

Or perhaps he just didn’t dare to speak of these things openly, which is a problem that has beset the world for many centuries.

What Orwell did get right in this essay is that writers who embrace totalitarianism in any form automatically forfeit their access to legitimate literary integrity, or even basic accuracy. Orwell put it more bluntly:

Any writer sympathetic to a political cause does have to acquiesce

in the deliberate falsification of important issues.

It makes me think of the New York Times reporter, Walter Duranty, who won a Pulitzer Prize for never mentioning that 9 million Ukrainians were starved to death by the insane Jews who ran the Soviet Union in the 1930s.

Orwell was talking about Communists, but you know the drill today. You can’t get published anywhere in the mainstream unless you’re willing to sign on to the Muslim 9/11 lie. Practically every writer you read today, in any venue, has forfeited his own integrity, simply by espousing one political creed or another. This would also be true of religious writers, as religions are a form of totalitarianism. As Orwell writes,

Totalitarianism demands, in fact, the continuous alteration of the past,

and in the long run probably demands a disbelief

in the very existence of objective truth.

Which is why today, you not only don’t get the truth about current events from anybody in the mainstream as well as most of those in the alternative media, but you don’t get the real history, either, as the fabricated narratives about the phony wars, 9/11, the world wars, and why America does what it does are all skewed by those communicating within the polluted mainstream narrative of reality.

Orwell elaborated upon the impact of this:

Even a single taboo can have an all-round crippling effect upon the mind,

because there is always the danger that any thought

which is freely followed up may lead to the forbidden thought.

It follows that the atmosphere of totalitarianism is deadly to any kind of prose writer,

though a poet, at any rate a lyric poet, might possibly find it breathable.

And in any totalitarian society that survives for more than a couple of generations,

it is probable that prose literature, of the kind that has existed

during the past four hundred years, must actually come to an end.

Which is how Snowden has got himself caught himself up in that lie of political correctness about 9/11. Trying to impact the mainstream with its false narrative revealed he is a part of that falsehood.

Despite not possessing the complete picture, Orwell managed to transcend the false narrative. He observed:

Political writing in our time consists almost entirely of prefabricated phrases bolted together like the pieces of a child’s Meccano set. It is the unavoidable result of self-censorship.

(A Meccano set is what the English call an erector set, a child’s construction toy.)

To write in plain, vigorous language one has to think fearlessly, and if one thinks fearlessly one cannot be politically orthodox.

(Which is why I insist that only one force runs the whole world — the U.S., Russia, China, India, Britain and Germany are all run by the same Jewish power structure. The wars are only confabulated fantasies, contrived passion plays with real actors, designed to make money from the sale of weapons.) Orwell also wrote:

Totalitarianism, however, does not so much promise an age of faith as an age of schizophrenia. A society becomes totalitarian when its structure becomes flagrantly artificial: that is, when its ruling class has lost its function but succeeds in clinging to power by force or fraud. Such a society, no matter how long it persists, can never afford to become either tolerant or intellectually stable. It can never permit either the truthful recording of facts or the emotional sincerity that literary creation demands.

(And that’s the history we have today — phony New York Times dictating reality to puppets of Jewish bankers while the rest of the social climbing world hangs on their every word, even as their lives are destroyed.)

When one sees highly educated men looking on indifferently at oppression and persecution, one wonders which to despise more, their cynicism or their shortsightedness.

My favorite line from this Orwell essay is “Imagination will not not breed in captivity.”

Which is why you have the lame 9/11 narrative that never made any sense in the minds of people who can actually think. And you have to wonder how pathetic the American thought process has become when consensus reality has managed to install so many lies into the fictional narrative of American history of the 21st century.

What we do know for certain is that an outside force has taken control of our societies, of our lives, lathered up our brains with addictions that shorten our lifespans and sicken our hearts, because we have lost the belief — or had it ripped from our hands — that life is a delight, both a pleasure and a privilege. Instead it has been turned into an unbearable ordeal of fear and betrayal by those shadowy figures whose nasty perversions control us through compulsions and prejudices, and wring all the joy out of life for the vast majority of people in the world.

It would be a fairly simple matter to suddenly wake up and realize we have been deceived by falsehoods, entrained by addictions, polluted by poisons, and chained to our prejudices that serve no purpose except for the money that is wrung out of them that fatten only the very rich as they leave the rest of the world dying of a thirst for common sense and the compassion that our parents taught us. That’s why the Jews are trying to eliminate the family, because the family is the only group we can be sure actually loves us.

Whether you believe or not is something you can argue about tomorrow as long as your family sticks together, but once it comes apart, the argument is over, and your world will never be the same.

FEDERAL JUDGE: ‘DISCARD’ GOD’S WORD ON MARRIAGE

By Lee Duigon
May 29, 2014
NewsWithViews.com

Who do more harm to the country—fat-head judges, or the slimy politicians who appoint them?

Last week a federal judge—that is, a creature appointed by a president and confirmed by the Senate—ruled that Pennsylvania’s marriage protection laws, and all other state laws reserving marriage to a man and a woman, must be cast away. In his exact words, “[I]t is time to discard them into the ash heap of history.”

With those words, Judge John Jones III joins himself to all the other heathen egomaniacs who’ve tried to make their word bigger than God’s. He thinks marriage, as God ordained it, and as the human race has known it for untold thousands of years, is a bad thing that ought to be replaced: and America has been a bad country for not rushing to replace it.

Everywhere you look, state and federal judges make war on Christianity, battling to overthrow the Christian—and, except for pockets of polygamy, universally human—construction of marriage and the family. As this is the very foundation of society, we view their efforts with both alarm and deep disgust.

But these judges didn’t just spring up from the earth like pokeweed. Chief executives appointed them, and legislatures confirmed them. And where did those executives and legislators come from? We the people, to our shame, elected them.

Judges nowadays, as is glaringly obvious, believe they can do anything they please: and who can blame them for thinking so? Article III of the Constitution gives Congress the power to remove from the courts’ jurisdiction all sorts of issues—including the definition of marriage—but that authority has never, ever been invoked. And it never will be, because the villains in Congress rely on judges to do dirty work that they would never dare to do themselves. They could also impeach out-of-control judges like this Mr. Jones, but they don’t do that, either.

So we have arrived at the bizarre scenario of a country of 300 million people at the mercy of a micro-constituency of homosexual activists, to whom our bureaucrats and judges and elected representatives hand their hearts’ desires on a silver platter. If you oppose it, you are branded a “hater,” derided as being “on the wrong side of history,” and stand a good chance of being punished by the loss of your job or the destruction of your business—by your government.

We are talking about a perverted moral vision that did not exist 25 years ago. Suddenly, in the blink of an eye, the word of God Himself, and unbroken thousands of years of human experience, are shouted down as evil, and their exact opposite held up to us as good.

I wonder how hard God laughs when we ask Him to bless America.

What can we do? Our country’s own leaders are waging war on our fundamental way of life. They have all the tools they need: the courts, the White House, and the Senate; the media and Hollywood; the schools, the teachers’ unions, and the university; corrupt, apostate churches; and the unelected bureaucrats as henchmen.

But they do not have God’s blessing on their work, and that’s what will undo them.

We are in for a bad time. We are being dragged into a dark age of moral chaos, and confusion over the nature of our most basic human institutions. Our society might fail. Lawless leaders, for whom law is whatever they say it is on any given afternoon, are a menace to our liberty, our social order, and our economy. We will not be the first civilization that has wrecked itself. But we will be the first to do it with so much going for us, otherwise.

What can we do?

I would rather be on the ash heap of history, with God’s word, than on a judge’s bench without it.

First we pray, unceasingly. Maybe God will hear us, and intervene to save us. He may even save our country, if He has any further use for it.

” are not marriages, even as we know abortion is not merely “choice.” We get out of churches that accept it, and let them wither on the vine.

We refuse to say what these lawless judges want us to say, refuse to think what they want us to think, refuse to do what they want us to do. Our consciences belong to God and to ourselves, and not to any government.

Finally, the abrupt removal of some millions of Christian children from the anti-Christian public schools would please God and show the world that we mean business.

It would also put a very nasty hole in Satan’s pocketbook.

“Let there be light” … and God created Tesla.”

The 10 Inventions of Nikola Tesla That Changed The World

Nikola Tesla
July 10, 1856 – January 7, 1943

Note:Please feel free to add your own information, article links, or video links about Tesla and his work in the comment section.

I would also point you to Rand Clifford’s 3-part series: Nikola Tesla: Calling All Freethinkers! which has a wealth of different information than what you will read below.

Ere many generations pass, our machinery will be driven by a power obtainable at any point of the universe. Throughout space there is energy.  — Nikola Tesla, 1892

Nicholas West
Activist Post

Nikola Tesla is finally beginning to attract real attention and encourage serious debate nearly 70 years after his death.  Was he for real? A crackpot? Part of an early experiment in corporate-government control?

We know that he was undoubtedly persecuted by the energy power brokers of his day — namely Thomas Edison, whom we are taught in school to revere as a genius.  He was also attacked by J.P. Morgan and other “captains of industry.” Upon Tesla’s death on January 7th, 1943, the U.S. government moved into his lab and apartment confiscating all of his scientific research, some of which has been released by the FBI through the Freedom of Information Act. (I’ve embedded the first 250 pages below and have added a link to the .pdf of the final pages, 290 in total).

Besides his persecution by corporate-government interests (which is practically a certification of authenticity), there is at least one solid indication of Nikola Tesla’s integrity — he tore up a contract with Westinghouse that was worth billions in order to save the company from paying him his huge royalty payments.

But, let’s take a look at what Nikola Tesla — a man who died broke and alone — has actually given to the world.  For better or worse, with credit or without, he changed the face of the planet in ways that perhaps no man ever has.

This is where it all began, and what ultimately caused such a stir at the 1893 World’s Expo in Chicago.  A war was leveled ever-after between the vision of Edison and the vision of Tesla for how electricity would be produced and distributed.  The division can be summarized as one of cost and safety: The DC current that Edison (backed by General Electric) had been working on was costly over long distances, and produced dangerous sparking from the required converter (called a commutator).  Regardless, Edison and his backers utilized the general “dangers” of electric current to instill fear in Tesla’s alternative: Alternating Current.  As proof, Edison sometimes electrocuted animals at demonstrations.  Consequently, Edison gave the world the electric chair, while simultaneously maligning Tesla’s attempt to offer safety at a lower cost.  Tesla responded by demonstrating that AC was perfectly safe by famously shooting current through his own body to produce light.  This Edison-Tesla (GE-Westinghouse) feud in 1893 was the culmination of over a decade of shady business deals, stolen ideas, and patent suppression that Edison and his moneyed interests wielded over Tesla’s inventions. Yet, despite it all, it is Tesla’s system that provides power generation and distribution to North America in our modern era.

2. Light
– Of course he didn’t invent light itself, but he did invent how light can be harnessed and distributed.  Tesla developed and used florescent bulbs in his lab some 40 years before industry “invented” them. At the World’s Fair, Tesla took glass tubes and bent them into famous scientists’ names, in effect creating the first neon signs.  However, it is his Tesla Coil that might be the most impressive, and controversial.  The Tesla Coil is certainly something that big industry would have liked to suppress: the concept that the Earth itself is a magnet that can generate electricity (electromagnetism) utilizing frequencies as a transmitter.  All that is needed on the other end is the receiver — much like a radio.

3. X-rays Electromagnetic and ionizing radiation was heavily researched in the late 1800s, but Tesla researched the entire gamut. Everything from a precursor to Kirlian photography, which has the ability to document life force, to what we now use in medical diagnostics, this was a transformative invention of which Tesla played a central role.  X-rays, like so many of Tesla’s contributions, stemmed from his belief that everything we need to understand the universe is virtually around us at all times, but we need to use our minds to develop real-world devices to augment our innate perception of existence.

4. Radio– Guglielmo Marconi was initially credited, and most believe him to be the inventor of radio to this day.  However, the Supreme Court overturned Marconi’s patent in 1943, when it was proven that Tesla invented the radio years previous to Marconi.  Radio signals are just another frequency that needs a transmitter and receiver, which Tesla also demonstrated in 1893 during a presentation before The National Electric Light Association.  In 1897 Tesla applied for two patents  US 645576, and US 649621. In 1904, however, The U.S. Patent Office reversed its decision, awarding Marconi a patent for the invention of radio, possibly influenced by Marconi’s financial backers in the States, who included Thomas Edison and Andrew Carnegie. This also allowed the U.S. government (among others) to avoid having to pay the royalties that were being claimed by Tesla.

5. Remote Control– This invention was a natural outcropping of radio. Patent No. 613809 was the first remote controlled model boat, demonstrated in 1898.  Utilizing several large batteries; radio signals controlled switches, which then energized the boat’s propeller, rudder, and scaled-down running lights. While this exact technology was not widely used for some time, we now can see the power that was appropriated by the military in its pursuit of remote controlled war. Radio controlled tanks were introduced by the Germans in WWII, and developments in this realm have since slid quickly away from the direction of human freedom.

6. Electric Motor
Tesla’s invention of the electric motor has finally been popularized by a car brandishing his name.  While the technical specifications are beyond the scope of this summary, suffice to say that Tesla’s invention of a motor with rotating magnetic fields could have freed mankind much sooner from the stranglehold of Big Oil.  However, his invention in 1930 succumbed to the economic crisis and the world war that followed. Nevertheless, this invention has fundamentally changed the landscape of what we now take for granted: industrial fans, household applicances, water pumps, machine tools, power tools, disk drives, electric wristwatches and compressors.

7. RoboticsTesla’s overly enhanced scientific mind led him to the idea that all living beings are merely driven by external impulses.  He stated: “I have by every thought and act of mine, demonstrated, and does so daily, to my absolute satisfaction that I am an automaton endowed with power of movement, which merely responds to external stimuli.”  Thus, the concept of the robot was born.  However, an element of the human remained present, as Tesla asserted that these human replicas should have limitations — namely growth and propagation. Nevertheless, Tesla unabashedly embraced all of what intelligence could produce.  His visions for a future filled with intelligent cars, robotic human companions, and the use of sensors, and autonomous systems are detailed in a must-read entry in the Serbian Journal of Electrical Engineering, 2006 (PDF).

8. Laser– Tesla’s invention of the laser may be one of the best examples of the good and evil bound up together within the mind of man.  Lasers have transformed surgical applications in an undeniably beneficial way, and they have given rise to much of our current digital media. However, with this leap in innovation we have also crossed into the land of science fiction.  From Reagan’s “Star Wars” laser defense system to today’s Orwellian “non-lethal” weapons’ arsenal, which includes laser rifles and directed energy “death rays,” there is great potential for development in both directions.

9 and 10. Wireless Communications and Limitless Free Energy — These two are inextricably linked, as they were the last straw for the power elite — what good is energy if it can’t be metered and controlled?  Free?  Never.  J.P. Morgan backed Tesla with $150,000 to build a tower that would use the natural frequencies of our universe to transmit data, including a wide range of information communicated through images, voice messages, and text.  This represented the world’s first wireless communications, but it also meant that aside from the cost of the tower itself, the universe was filled with free energy that could be utilized to form a world wide web connecting all people in all places, as well as allow people to harness the free energy around them.  Essentially, the 0′s and 1′s of the universe are embedded in the fabric of existence for each of us to access as needed.  Nikola Tesla was dedicated to empowering the individual to receive and transmit this data virtually free of charge.  But we know the ending to that story . . . until now?

Tesla had perhaps thousands of other ideas and inventions that remain unreleased.  A look at his hundreds of patents shows a glimpse of the scope he intended to offer.  If you feel that the additional technical and scientific research of Nikola Tesla should be revealed for public scrutiny and discussion, instead of suppressed by big industry and even our supposed institutions of higher education, join the world’s call to tell power brokers everywhere that we are ready to Occupy Energy and learn about what our universe really has to offer.

The release of Nikola Tesla’s technical and scientific research — specifically his research into harnessing electricity from the ionosphere at a facility called Wardenclyffe — is a necessary step toward true freedom of information.  Please add your voice by sharing this information with as many people as possible.

For additional information about the demand for release, or to use as a template to form your own demand, please visit: http://releaseteslasresearch.weebly.com/

As they state:

Tell your friends, bring it up and discuss it at your next general assembly, do whatever you can to get the word out, organize locally to make a stand for the release of Nikola Tesla’s research…. America is tired of corrupt corporate greed, supported by The American government, holding us back in a stagnant society in the name of profit . . . The Energy Crisis is a lie.

As an aside: there are some who have pointed out that Tesla’s experimentation with the ionosphere very well could have caused the massive explosion over Tunguska, Siberia in 1908, which leveled an estimated 60 million trees over 2,150 square kilometers, and may even have led to the much maligned HAARP technology.  I submit that we would do well to remember that technology is never the true enemy; it is the misuse of technology that can enslave rather than free mankind from its animal-level survivalism.

Please view the video below, which does an excellent job at personalizing this largely forgotten human being, as well as show the reasons why to this day he is not a household name.

And here is a video that offers an essential alternative view of ancient Egypt and other cultures that employed pyramidal structures, which suggests the staggering outer limits of what Tesla was attempting to harness and offer to humanity:

Gangster State America
Where Is America’s Democracy?

Paul Craig Roberts

Anyone who looks carefully behind the veil of words cannot find democracy in America. For years I have been writing that the US government is no longer accountable to law or to the people (see, for example, my book, How America Was Lost). The Constitution has been set aside, and the executive branch is degenerating into Caesarism.

Government is used to impose agendas that result from the symbiotic relationship between the neoconservative ideology of US world hegemony and the economic interests of powerful private interest groups, such as Wall Street, the military/security complex, the Israel Lobby, agribusiness, and extractive industries (energy, mining, and timber). Dollar imperialism, threats, bribes, and wars are means by which US hegemony is extended. These agendas are pursued without the knowledge or approval of the American people and in spite of their opposition.

Professor Martin Gilens at Princeton University and Professor Benjamin Page of Northwestern University have examined American governance and have concluded that the US is an oligarchy ruled by powerful rich private interest groups and that the US government has only a superficial resemblance to a democracy. Their analysis is forthcoming in publication in the journal, Perspectives on Politics.

Their conclusions are striking:

“The central point that emerges from our research is that economic elites and organized groups representing business interests have substantial independent impacts on US government policy, while mass-based interest groups and average citizens have little or no independent influence.”

“When a majority of citizens disagrees with economic elites and/or with organized interests, they generally lose.”

“In the United States, our findings indicate that the majority does not rule–at least not in the causal sense of actually determining policy outcomes.”

“The preferences of the average American appear to have only a minuscule, near-zero, statistically non-significant impact upon public policy.”

A number of factors have contributed to the demise of democracy and accountable government in the US. One factor is the concentration of the US media in a few hands. During the last years of the Clinton regime, a formerly diverse media with significant independence was concentrated in five mega-corporations. The value of these corporations consists largely of their federal broadcast licenses. To insure the renewal of these licenses, the media avoids challenging the government on significant issues.

Another factor is the offshoring of US industrial and manufacturing jobs. This development destroyed the manufacturing and industrial unions, which were the backbone of the Democratic Party’s financial support. Now the Democrats have to appeal to the same interest groups as the Republicans–Wall Street, the military/security complex, and the polluting industries that despoil the environment. As both political parties are now financed by the same private interests, both political parties serve the same masters. There is no longer any countervailing power. The Obama regime is simply a continuation of the George W. Bush regime.

Two recent rulings by the Republican majority on the US Supreme Court are another decisive factor. The court ruled that it is merely an exercise of free speech for oligarchs to purchase the US government (Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission and McCutcheon v. Federal Election Commission). A corrupt Supreme Court has invented a “constitutional right” for corporations and oligarchs to use their vast financial resources to form a government of their choosing.

Private interest groups in the US are so powerful that they can purchase immunity from law. On March 27 a retiring Securities and Exchange Commission prosecutor, James Kidney, said that his prosecutions of financial criminals at Goldman Sachs and other giant US banks were blocked by SEC political appointees who “were focused on getting high-paying jobs after their government service.”

In a recent test to ascertain the responsiveness of members of Congress to monied interests in comparison to voters, two letters were sent to congressional offices. One letter asked for the representative to meet with community groups in his district. The other letter asked for the representative to meet with a group of active donors. The latter letter received by far the most responses from members of Congress.

In the US and Europe there is constant propaganda about “gangster state Russia.” According to this propaganda, President Putin is a tool of oligarchs who use Putin to rule Russia and loot the people. In my opinion, this propaganda originates in the Washington-funded NGOs that constitute a US fifth column inside Russia. The purpose of the propaganda is to destroy Putin’s legitimacy and that of his government in hopes of bringing to power a Washington-compliant government in Moscow.

My impression is that the Russian government has curtailed activities of some of the oligarchs who used the privatization era to seize control of resources, but that the government’s actions are consistent with the rule of law. In contrast, in the US oligarchs control the law and use it to acquire immunity from law.

The real gangster state is the US. Every institution is corrupt. Regulators sell protection from law for well-paying jobs in the industries that they are supposed to regulate. The Supreme Court not only permits money to purchase the government but also sells out the Constitution to the police state. The Supreme Court has just refused to hear the case against indefinite detention of US citizens in the absence of due process. This is an unambiguous unconstitutional law, yet the Supreme Court refuses to even hear the case, thus granting unchecked police power to the gangster state. http://rt.com/usa/156172-scotus-ndaa-hedges-obama/

Another defining characteristic of a gangster state is the criminalization of dissent and truth tellers. Washington has done everything in its power to criminalize Julian Assange and Edward Snowden for revealing the US government’s illegal, unconstitutional, and criminal actions. Washington reeks of hypocrisy. On April 26 the State Department announced its third annual Free The Press campaign, a propaganda exercise directed at foreign countries that are not Washington’s puppets. The very same day the Justice Department told the Supreme Court to reject the protection US journalists have under the Constitution against being forced to reveal their confidential sources so that James Risen can be imprisoned for reporting a government misdeed. https://pressfreedomfoundation.org/blog/2014/04/state-dept-launches-free-press-campaign-while-doj-supreme-court-force-reporter

In the 21st century Washington has squandered trillions of dollars on wars that have destroyed countries and killed, maimed, and displaced millions of people in seven or eight countries. Declaring its war crimes to be a “war on terror,” Washington has used the state of war that it created to destroy US civil liberty.

In the 21st century it is difficult to find a significant statement made by Washington that is not a lie. Obamacare is a lie. Saddam Hussein’s weapons of mass destruction is a lie. Assad’s use of chemical weapons is a lie. Iranian nukes are a lie. Russia’s invasion and annexation of Crimea is a lie. No fly zones are a lie. Russian aggression against Georgia is a lie. 9/11, the basis for Washington’s destruction of civil liberty and illegal military attacks, is itself a lie. The fantastic story that a few Saudi Arabians without government or intelligence agency backing outwitted the entire national security apparatus of the Western world is unbelievable. It is simply not credible that every institution of the national security state simultaneously failed. That Washington would tell such a fantastic lie shows that Washington has no respect for the intelligence of the American people and no respect for the integrity of the American media. It shows also that Washington has no respect for the intelligence and integrity of its European and Asian allies.

Washington won’t even tell the truth about little things in comparison–jobs, unemployment, inflation, GDP growth, economic recovery. Washington rigs the markets in order to cover up its sacrifice of the economy for the benefit of a few special interests. In the name of “privatization,” Washington hands over public assets and government responsibilities to rapacious private interests.

The conclusion is inescapable that the US is a gangster state. Indeed, the US is worse than a mere gangster state. The US is a shameless exploitative tyranny.

With our Eyes and Minds … Open …

IT’S HAPPENING right before our eyes. And it augurs the end of America.

Warmongering JEWS are stirring up a mounting military expansion targeting Russia in defiance of the will of the majority of Americans.

Victoria Nuland, born “Nudelman” (head of the Jewish neocon faction at the US State Department), just promised the Jew-controlled Senate Foreign Relations Committee that she’s doing her best to stoke the fires of war:

“We’re sending military assistance to Kiev. We’re raising the economic costs for Russia’s illegal occupation of Crimea and its efforts to destabilize eastern Ukraine. But the real victims of Putin’s policies are the Russian people.” View Entire Story Here.

Alas! America is led by a warmongering JEW at State Department, Victoria Nuland.

It’s the people of America–NOT Russians–who are VICTIMS of Jewish warmongering.

America was once a friend and ally of Tsarist Christian Russia in the 19th Century.

But once the JEWS took over in 1913 with their control of our nation’s money via the Federal Reserve, any nation that crosses them becomes their target.

How many more Gentile youths need to die in wars for the Jews?

When will Americans wake up? Jews do NOT send their own to die in their wars.

JEWISH DESTRUCTION OF AMERICA

HOW HAVE THE JEWS destroyed America? Let us count the ways:

Jews Are The Main Pushers Of Homosexual Activity.

Jews Brought In Multiple Creeds via Their Open Immigration Law of 1965.

Jews Offshore US Jobs via Jewish Wall Street.

Jews Have Accelerated Inflation via The Federal Reserve.

Jews Have Created a Jewish Police State via Homeland Security.

Jews Form Public Opinion via TOTAL Ownership of the Main Stream Media.

Jews Blackball Christian Groups via Homeland Security.

Jews Litigate Against Christian Symbols in the Public Square.

Jews Celebrate Passover In The White House But Forbid Easter Services.

Jews Control Capitol Hill via AIPAC, ADL, and Sheldon Adelson.

Jews Manipulate Elections via Money & Media.

Jews Corrupt The Youth via Jew-owned Hollywood and the Music Industry.

THIS IS ONLY the tip of the iceberg of the Jewish ruination of America.

Where are the leaders of yesteryear?

Men like Robert E Lee, William Howard Taft, and Louis Thomas McFadden will never be seen again. Now we’re stuck with Jews, queers, and incompetent women.

Wake up America! Jews have destroyed your country!

Dear Real Jew News Family,

Jewmerica is at a crossroads.

Either the Goyim WAKE UP or the Jewish destruction of America will be complete.

DO Jews care about the nations that host them? What has history shown? Only that Jews care about themselves.

It’s all coming to a head.

The time could very well come when Americans DO wake up (many are waking up already) and MORE will wake up since the Jews are an obsessive-compulsive people and don’t know when to stop.

And once the Gentiles DO wake up there will be NO place for the Jews to go. China won’t take them.

And IsraHell will be so squeezed by the Muslim nations surrounding them that ‘zion’ will not look so paradisaical as it does from AIPAC headquarters.

We must keep on EXPOSING the Jews for the time of their OWN destruction WILL come.

Will Washington’s stooges overthrow … US ?

PCR’s new book, HOW AMERICA WAS LOST, is now available:In Print by Clarity Press

Moving Closer To War — Paul Craig Roberts

Moving Closer To War

Paul Craig Roberts

The Obama regime, wallowing in hubris and arrogance, has recklessly escalated the Ukrainian crisis into a crisis with Russia. Whether intentionally or stupidly, Washington’s propagandistic lies are driving the crisis to war. Unwilling to listen to any more of Washington’s senseless threats, Moscow no longer accepts telephone calls from Obama and US top officials.

The crisis in Ukraine originated with Washington’s overthrow of the elected democratic government and its replacement with Washington’s hand-chosen stooges. The stooges proceeded to act in word and deed against the populations in the former Russian territories that Soviet Communist Party leaders had attached to Ukraine. The consequence of this foolish policy is agitation on the part of the Russian speaking populations to return to Russia. Crimea has already rejoined Russia, and eastern Ukraine and other parts of southern Ukraine are likely to follow.

Instead of realizing its mistake, the Obama regime has encouraged the stooges Washington installed in Kiev to use violence against those in the Russian-speaking areas who are agitating for referendums so that they can vote their return to Russia. The Obama regime has encouraged violence despite President Putin’s clear statement that the Russian military will not occupy Ukraine unless violence is used against the protesters.

We can safely conclude that Washington either does not listen when spoken to or Washington desires violence.

As Washington and NATO are not positioned at this time to move significant military forces into Ukraine with which to confront the Russian military, why is the Obama regime trying to provoke action by the Russian military? A possible answer is that Washington’s plan to evict Russia from its Black Sea naval base having gone awry, Washington’s fallback plan is to sacrifice Ukraine to a Russian invasion so that Washington can demonize Russia and force a large increase in NATO military spending and deployments.

In other words, the fallback prize is a new cold war and trillions of dollars more in profits for Washington’s military/security complex.

The handful of troops and aircraft that Washington has sent to “reassure” the incompetent regimes in those perennial trouble spots for the West–Poland and the Baltics–and the several missile ships sent to the Black Sea amount to nothing but symbolic provocations.

Economic sanctions applied to individual Russian officials signal nothing but Washington’s impotence. Real sanctions would harm Washington’s NATO puppet states far more than the sanctions would hurt Russia.

It is clear that Washington has no intention of working anything out with the Russian government. Washington’s demands make this conclusion unavoidable. Washington is demanding that the Russian government pull the rug out from under the protesting populations in eastern and southern Ukraine and force the Russian populations in Ukraine to submit to Washington’s stooges in Kiev. Washington also demands that Russia renege on the reunification with Crimea and hand Crimea over to Washington so that the original plan of evicting Russia from its Black Sea
naval base can go forward.

In other words, Washington’s demand is that Russia put Humpty Dumpty back together again and hand him over to Washington.

This demand is so unrealistic that it surpasses the meaning of arrogance. The White House Fool is telling Putin: “I screwed up my takeover of your backyard. I want you to fix the situation for me and to ensure the success of the strategic threat I intended to bring to your backyard.”

The presstitute Western media and Washington’s European puppet states are supporting this unrealistic demand. Consequently, Russian leaders have lost all confidence in the word and intentions of the West, and this is how wars start.

European politicians are putting their countries at great peril and for what gain? Are Europe’s politicians blackmailed, threatened, paid off with bags of money, or are they so accustomed to following Washington’s lead that they are unable to do anything else? How do Germany, UK, and France benefit from being forced into a confrontation with Russia by Washington?

Washington’s arrogance is unprecedented and is capable of driving the world to destruction. Where is Europe’s sense of self-preservation? Why hasn’t Europe issued arrest warrants for every member of the Obama regime? Without the cover provided by Europe and the presstitute media, Washington would not be able to drive the world to war.

A true celebration … for Easter ?

This day, Easter Monday, there are three links that will affect the lives of almost every person living today.

The first link is the decision of a court which will historically influence the future support and survival of the Roman Catholic Church and the Vatican’s power and authority to represent what Jesus of Nazareth ordained and taught about truth:

The third link is the following article that reveals the dangerous potential and consequences of the current foreign and domestic policies of the United States of America.

America advertising its impotence

By M. I. Bhat

United States government has never given any credence to whatever appears in the alternate media – be it about 9/11 and the wars since, color revolutions, spying, torture, Syrian sarin gas attack, failed economy, jobs, growing domestic poverty and public anger, and so on.

It always promotes its own narrative however contrary the facts may be or however impeccable the credentials of the contrary camp.

One of the rather persistent themes highlighted by the alternate media over the past many years has been the decline in the US imperial power. But the USG, from President down to lowly State Department official, continue to see the world as their playing field.

So does the Congress. In fact Congress has always been a step ahead – ever on lookout to force American laws and social norms worldwide.

In this background the candid admission by the Secretary of State John Kerry and the Senate Foreign Relations Committee that the US “superpower” days are over comes as a big surprise. As Bloomberg reported, Kerry admitted that despite “enormous power” the United States “can’t necessarily always dictate every outcome the way we want, particularly in this world where we have rising economic powers — China, India, Mexico, Korea, Brazil, many other people who are players.”

This is precisely what President Vladimir Putin had warned Washington in his famous 2007 Munich Speech when he said, “I consider that the unipolar model is not only unacceptable but also impossible in today’s world.”

Unfortunately it took 7 long years for the repository of global wisdom and leadership in Washington to realize this.

Nonetheless, this is a huge success for rest of the world given how arrogantly and unilaterally the US has been deciding world affairs post-Soviet Union, in the process turning Franklin Roosevelt’s dictum on its head by breaking peace not just at one place but everywhere in the world.

But, is the admission of the “changed world” enough?  Definitely not — neither for the rest of the world nor for the US itself — if the aim is world at peace.

What is important is the acceptance by Washington that it is their own policies and actions founded on unbridled arrogance that forced the world to change. After all, as Putin put it, “There is a limit to everything.”

Also, equally important is that Washington accepts that the US, too, has changed – it is broke economically, politically, socially and morally; it has lost credibility. It is not just others but even majority of its own people feel threatened by the USG.

Both changes resulted from the false notion that the US destroyed the Soviet Union and its communist economy. Yet it was this hyped notion and the absence of any countervailing potent force that let the US stalk the world community like Godzilla for about two decades, that is, until President Vladimir Putin was forced to say ‘enough.’

Anyone believing that American money and military supplies helped Afghans bleed Soviet Union economically or that the collapse of the Soviet Union confirmed the success of capitalist economy over controlled economy should consider whose money and arms helped Afghans and Iraqis bleed the US and turn it into one of the most indebted nations in history. Moreover, who would say the millions of unemployed, homeless and hungry Americans — thrown up, mind you, when US was at its peak — are the best poster boys of the success of the (Western version) capitalist economy!

History repeatedly notes long wars have spelled the final death knell of many empires. As in the past, it is the long wars against determined enemies that broke economies of both “superpowers” — Soviet Union with relatively lesser economy went down with just one long war, the US with greater economy needed two.

President Obama says no “military excursion” in Ukraine, and his Secretary of State John Kerry talks of using “21st Century tools,” meaning economic sanctions, against Russia. Someone ask Obama: When did US go to war against a powerful enemy that he felt need to discount military confrontation with Russia? After the Hollywood-scripted fancy of US victory over Nazi Germany in WWII has subsided, historian tell us it was Soviet Union that really bore the major brunt of defeating Germany, with US and Britain providing vital supporting roles only. A big hole in the ego balloon!

And someone ask Kerry: When did the US wars on Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya happen if not in 21st century, and didn’t some of the “rising economic powers” exist then?

Both are talking crap, a naive attempt to cover up US impotence. US may possibly threaten China of military action (as Chuck Hagel did recently in veiled terms) but against Russia…? Well, that is different ball game US doesn’t have balls to play.

All this doesn’t mean US would opt for Gandhian non-violence. War is in the American genes. If overt war is not an option, it must go for covert one. Indeed, beginning with Georgia, that is the option Washington choose against Russia, baptizing it as the color revolutions. But how long?

Ruthless reaction to Georgia in 2008 should have given enough signals to the US that time is up for these covert “democracy promotion” games against Putin’s Russia. But perhaps success in repeating Gorbachev (backpedaling on no NATO expansion) on Putin in the case of Libya, Washington thought they could go on cornering Russia – so the game went on, first in Syria and now in Ukraine.

Unless the idea is to provoke Russia, it is clear Washington once again miscalculated. If Putin didn’t let go the distant Tartus Syrian naval base, how could he possibly let Black Sea naval base go from its belly? While Syria is inching forward in reclaiming lost ground against US-sponsored terrorists, Ukraine has already lost Crimea. This is after spending 5 billion dollars and all propaganda hype against Russia – no less bizarre than making 38m wide x 13m high Boeing 757 plane pass through Pentagon’s 5mx5m deception hole without a trace on 9/11.

How much more Ukraine loses will depend primarily upon how far continental Europe (mainly Germany and France) is willing to tail Washington and let Ukraine be used as proxy against Russia, and secondarily whether the coup-installed Ukrainian government is willing to fight this US’ proxy war. While the prospects for the former don’t look so bright beyond sanctions rhetoric given that EU and Russia are so intertwined economically, the latter seems rather quite plausible at least as long as the 27 billion dollar international aid is received and stashed in right accounts and Ukrainians reduced to cannon fodder zombies.

As of present there are ominous signs on the Ukrainian skies, in fact all over Europe. Europe is being lulled into belief that Putin is trying the reclaim Soviet empire thereby creating a scare among the former Soviet republics. But no one is even mentioning his outright support and cooperation to the US-led war in Afghanistan, ignoring the great opportunity he had in taking revenge on America. Or, the cooperation he gave in imposing sanctions on Iraq and Iran. Or, how coolly Russia has been seeking diplomatic way out to the US aggressive missiles bases getting closer to Moscow.

The agreement reached in Geneva over de-escalating tensions is good news but the joint statement is open to the danger of convenient reinterpretation, as has, unsurprisingly, already begun. For US and EU it means opportunity to once again ditch Russia like they did earlier on Libya. And Obama has given enough hints of this in his reaction to the agreement when he said, “My hope is that we actually do see follow-through over the next several days, but I don’t think, given past performance, that we can count on that.”

What past performance is Obama talking about — Not an inch of NATO expansion to the east, no militarization of Eastern Europe, encouraging Ukrainian opposition plot a coup against their elected President moments after they entered a deal with him and then recognizing the coup-installed government?

Obama added: “[W]e have to be prepared that we can actually respond to what continue to be efforts of interference by the Russians in eastern and southern Ukraine.” Well, to get the right message world in general and Putin in particular need to replace the word “Russians” in the statement with ‘Americans’ and prepare accordingly for the situation likely to unfold.

Putin has marked the red line for Washington before he is forced to order his army cross the Ukrainian border: Safety and security of the Russian-speaking population in Ukraine. Instead of advising dialogue with pro-Russian protestors, US backed and encouraged Ukrainian army offensive against them while at the same time increasing offensive military capabilities in Eastern European states. The idea perhaps is why miss a chance to do yet another Afghanistan on Russia without spilling American blood?

There is no doubt America is impotent to deal on its own with resurgent Russia.

It is trying to use EU to nail down Putin on Ukraine. And Ukraine has thrown a critical challenge to the EU leadership (minus UK – the US mole within the EU): Should it tamely surrender its foreign policy to the US and let Washington really ruin the EU by allowing one of their peoples and countries used as a sacrificial lamb and in due course bring turmoil within their borders like the Soviet incursion into Afghanistan did to much of the Muslim world.

EU’s final decision must not be swayed by Soviet-era negative experience of some of its members (like Poland) but guided by the experience of wider section of its member-states vis-à-vis Russia as an economic partner.

The US is bankrupting its people while trying to impose big supranational corporations’ hegemony…for the time being the US is the center…but at one point those behind this luciferian New World Order will find another place and abandon the Americans to their fate : facing the astronomical debt…their government made when bringing chaos for big corporations to plunder nations…the US government is afraid of its own people that perhaps explains their suicidal confrontation with Russia.

Prof Bhat is so spot on. This is an incredible piece or should I say statement of facts and with enough sarcasm to go down with some good laughs.. as indeed US’ ways are like out of Alice in Wonderland, utter nonsense and bizarre. Yes indeed Hollywood’s version of who won WW2!!! US HA !!! It was the unsung hero the Sovjet with 24 million dead… against 1/2 mill from US and even less from UK…. And not only 24 mill dead the country devastated. And it will be once again the Russians that save the planet from Hitler and his ilk – Hitler’s ilk in the USA, Israel and of course it follows in Ukraine. But empires and dynasties come and go as everything in the world does, it is the old cycle of action, it gets born. grows up, grows old (decay) and dies and then it gets born again and the cycle repeats. So yes USA is actually gone, dead, the spirit has left, the body is still there but disintegrating and dying cell by cell, smelling too, the smell of death.

Washington Drives The World To War — Paul Craig Roberts

Washington Drives The World To War

Paul Craig Roberts

The CIA director was sent to Kiev to launch a military suppression of the Russian separatists in the eastern and southern portions of Ukraine, former Russian territories for the most part that were foolishly attached to the Ukraine in the early years of Soviet rule.

Washington’s plan to grab Ukraine overlooked that the Russian and Russian-speaking parts of Ukraine were not likely to go along with their insertion into the EU and NATO while submitting to the persecution of Russian speaking peoples.  Washington has lost Crimea, from which Washington intended to eject Russia from its Black Sea naval base. Instead of admitting that its plan for grabbing Ukraine has gone amiss, Washington is unable to admit a mistake and, therefore, is pushing the crisis to more dangerous levels.

If Ukraine dissolves into secession with the former Russian territories reverting to Russia, Washington will be embarrassed that the result of its coup in Kiev was to restore the Russian provinces of Ukraine to Russia.  To avoid this embarrassment, Washington is pushing the crisis toward war.

The CIA director instructed Washington’s hand-picked stooge government in Kiev to apply to the United Nations for help in repelling “terrorists” who with alleged Russian help are allegedly attacking Ukraine. In Washington’s vocabulary, self-determination is a sign of Russian interference. As the UN is essentially a Washington-financed organization, Washington will get what it wants.

The Russian government has already made it completely clear some weeks ago that the use of violence against protesters in eastern and southern Ukraine would compel the Russian government to send in the Russian army to protect Russians, just as Russia had to do in South Ossetia when Washington instructed its Georgian puppet ruler to attack Russian peacekeeping troops and Russian residents of South Ossetia.

Washington knows that the Russian government cannot stand aside while one of Washington’s puppet states attacks Russians.  Yet, Washington is pushing the crisis to war.

The danger for Russia is that the Russian government will rely on diplomacy, international organizations, international cooperation, and on the common sense and self-interest of German politicians and politicians in other of Washington’s European puppet states.

For Russia this could be a fatal mistake. There is no good will in Washington, only mendacity. Russian delay provides Washington with time to build up forces on Russia’s borders and in the Black Sea and to demonize Russia with propaganda and whip up the US population into a war frenzy.  The latter is already occurring.

Kerry has made it clear to Lavrov that Washington is not listening to Russia. As Washington pays well, Washington’s European puppets are also not listening to Russia. Money is more important to European politicians than humanity’s survival.

In my opinion, Washington does not want the Ukraine matters settled in a diplomatic and reasonable way. It might be the case that Russia’s best move is immediately to occupy the Russian territories of Ukraine and re-absorb the territories into Russia from whence they came. This should be done before the US and its NATO puppets are prepared for war. It is more difficult for Washington to start a war when the objects of the war have already been lost. Russia will be demonized with endless propaganda from Washington whether or not Russia re-absorbs its traditional territories. If Russia allows these territories to be suppressed by Washington, the prestige and authority of the Russian government will collapse. Perhaps that is what Washington is counting on.

If Putin’s government stands aside while Russian Ukraine is suppressed, Putin’s prestige will plummet, and Washington will finish off the Russian government by putting into action its many hundreds of Washington-financed NGOs that the Russian government has so foolishly tolerated.  Russia is riven with Washington’s Fifth columns.

In my opinion, the Russian and Chinese governments have made serious strategic mistakes by remaining within the US dollar-based international payments system. The BRICS and any others with a brain should instantly desert the dollar system, which is a mechanism for US imperialism. The countries of the BRICS should immediately create their own separate payments system and their own exclusive communications/Internet system.

Russia and China have stupidly made these strategic mistakes, because reeling from communist failures and oppressions, they naively assumed that Washington was pure, that Washington was committed to its propagandistic self-description as the upholder of law, justice, mercy, and  human rights.

In fact, Washington, the “exceptional, indispensable country,” is committed to its hegemony over the world. Russia, China, and Iran are in the way of Washington’s hegemony and are targeted for attack.

The attack on Russia is mounting.

Indoctrinating a new generation

Is there anyone out there who still believes that Barack Obama, when he’s speaking about American foreign policy, is capable of being anything like an honest man? In a March 26 talk in Belgium to “European youth”, the president fed his audience one falsehood, half-truth, blatant omission, or hypocrisy after another. If George W. Bush had made some of these statements, Obama supporters would not hesitate to shake their head, roll their eyes, or smirk. Here’s a sample:

“In defending its actions, Russian leaders have further claimed Kosovo as a precedent – an example they say of the West interfering in the affairs of a smaller country, just as they’re doing now. But NATO only intervened after the people of Kosovo were systematically brutalized and killed for years.”

Most people who follow such things are convinced that the 1999 US/NATO bombing of the Serbian province of Kosovo took place only after the Serbian-forced deportation of ethnic Albanians from Kosovo was well underway; which is to say that the bombing was launched to stop this “ethnic cleansing”. In actuality, the systematic deportations of large numbers of people did not begin until a few days after the bombing began, and was clearly a reaction to it, born of Serbia’s extreme anger and powerlessness over the bombing. This is easily verified by looking at a daily newspaper for the few days before the bombing began the night of March 23/24, 1999, and the few days following. Or simply look at the New York Times of March 26, page 1, which reads:

… with the NATO bombing already begun, a deepening sense of fear took hold in Pristina [the main city of Kosovo] that the Serbs would now vent their rage against ethnic Albanian civilians in retaliation. [emphasis added]

On March 27, we find the first reference to a “forced march” or anything of that nature.

But the propaganda version is already set in marble.

“And Kosovo only left Serbia after a referendum was organized, not outside the boundaries of international law, but in careful cooperation with the United Nations and with Kosovo’s neighbors. None of that even came close to happening in Crimea.”

None of that even came close to happening in Kosovo either. The story is false. The referendum the president speaks of never happened. Did the mainstream media pick up on this or on the previous example? If any reader comes across such I’d appreciate being informed.

Crimea, by the way, did have a referendum. A real one.

“Workers and engineers gave life to the Marshall Plan … As the Iron Curtain fell here in Europe, the iron fist of apartheid was unclenched, and Nelson Mandela emerged upright, proud, from prison to lead a multiracial democracy. Latin American nations rejected dictatorship and built new democracies … “

The president might have mentioned that the main beneficiary of the Marshall Plan was US corporations http://williamblum.org/aer/read/127, that the United States played an indispensable role in Mandela being caught and imprisoned, and that virtually all the Latin American dictatorships owed their very existence to Washington. Instead, the European youth were fed the same party line that their parents were fed, as were all Americans.

“Yes, we believe in democracy – with elections that are free and fair.”

In this talk, the main purpose of which was to lambaste the Russians for their actions concerning Ukraine, there was no mention that the government overthrown in that country with the clear support of the United States had been democratically elected.

“Moreover, Russia has pointed to America’s decision to go into Iraq as an example of Western hypocrisy. … But even in Iraq, America sought to work within the international system. We did not claim or annex Iraq’s territory. We did not grab its resources for our own gain. Instead, we ended our war and left Iraq to its people and a fully sovereign Iraqi state that could make decisions about its own future.”

The US did not get UN Security Council approval for its invasion, the only approval that could legitimize the action. It occupied Iraq from one end of the country to the other for 8 years, forcing the government to privatize the oil industry and accept multinational – largely U.S.-based, oil companies’ – ownership. This endeavor was less than successful because of the violence unleashed by the invasion. The US military finally was forced to leave because the Iraqi government refused to give immunity to American soldiers for their many crimes.

Here is a brief summary of what Barack Obama is attempting to present as America’s moral superiority to the Russians:

The modern, educated, advanced nation of Iraq was reduced to a quasi failed state … the Americans, beginning in 1991, bombed for 12 years, with one dubious excuse or another; then invaded, then occupied, overthrew the government, tortured without inhibition, killed wantonly … the people of that unhappy land lost everything – their homes, their schools, their electricity, their clean water, their environment, their neighborhoods, their mosques, their archaeology, their jobs, their careers, their professionals, their state-run enterprises, their physical health, their mental health, their health care, their welfare state, their women’s rights, their religious tolerance, their safety, their security, their children, their parents, their past, their present, their future, their lives … More than half the population either dead, wounded, traumatized, in prison, internally displaced, or in foreign exile … The air, soil, water, blood, and genes drenched with depleted uranium … the most awful birth defects … unexploded cluster bombs lying in wait for children to pick them up … a river of blood running alongside the Euphrates and Tigris … through a country that may never be put back together again. … “It is a common refrain among war-weary Iraqis that things were better before the U.S.-led invasion in 2003,” reported the Washington Post. (May 5, 2007)

How can all these mistakes, such arrogance, hypocrisy and absurdity find their way into a single international speech by the president of the United States? Is the White House budget not sufficient to hire a decent fact checker? Someone with an intellect and a social conscience? Or does the desire to score propaganda points trump everything else? Is this another symptom of the Banana-Republicization of America?

Long live the Cold War

In 1933 US President Franklin D. Roosevelt recognized the Soviet Union after some 15 years of severed relations following the Bolshevik Revolution. On a day in December of that year, a train was passing through Poland carrying the first American diplomats dispatched to Moscow. Amongst their number was a 29 year-old Foreign Service Officer, later to become famous as a diplomat and scholar, George Kennan. Though he was already deemed a government expert on Russia, the train provided Kennan’s first actual exposure to the Soviet Union. As he listened to his group’s escort, Russian Foreign Minister Maxim Litvinov, reminisce about growing up in a village the train was passing close by, and his dreams of becoming a librarian, the Princeton-educated Kennan was astonished: “We suddenly realized, or at least I did, that these people we were dealing with were human beings like ourselves, that they had been born somewhere, that they had their childhood ambitions as we had. It seemed for a brief moment we could break through and embrace these people.” http://williamblum.org/aer/read/127

It hasn’t happened yet.

One would think that the absence in Russia of communism, of socialism, of the basic threat or challenge to the capitalist system, would be sufficient to write finis to the 70-year Cold War mentality. But the United States is virtually as hostile to 21st-century Russia as it was to 20th-century Soviet Union, surrounding Moscow with military bases, missile sites, and NATO members. Why should that be? Ideology is no longer a factor. But power remains one, specifically America’s perpetual lust for world hegemony. Russia is the only nation that (a) is a military powerhouse, and (b) doesn’t believe that the United States has a god-given-American-exceptionalism right to rule the world, and says so. By these criteria, China might qualify as a poor second. But there are no others.

Washington pretends that it doesn’t understand why Moscow should be upset by Western military encroachment, but it has no such problem when roles are reversed. Secretary of State John Kerry recently stated that Russian troops poised near eastern Ukraine are “creating a climate of fear and intimidation in Ukraine” and raising questions about Russia’s next moves and its commitment to diplomacy. http://williamblum.org/aer/read/127

NATO – ever in need of finding a raison d’être – has now issued a declaration of [cold] war, which reads in part:

“NATO foreign ministers on Tuesday [April 1, 2014] reaffirmed their commitment to enhance the Alliance’s collective defence, agreed to further support Ukraine and to suspend NATO’s practical cooperation with Russia. ‘NATO’s greatest responsibility is to protect and defend our territory and our people. And make no mistake, this is what we will do,’ NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen said. … Ministers directed Allied military authorities to develop additional measures to strengthen collective defence and deterrence against any threat of aggression against the Alliance, Mr. Fogh Rasmussen said. ‘We will make sure we have updated military plans, enhanced exercises and appropriate deployments,’ he said. NATO has already reinforced its presence on the eastern border of the Alliance, including surveillance patrols over Poland and Romania and increased numbers of fighter aircraft allocated to the NATO air policing mission in the Baltic States. … NATO Foreign Ministers also agreed to suspend all of NATO’s practical cooperation with Russia.” http://williamblum.org/aer/read/127

Does anyone recall what NATO said in 2003 when the United States bombed and invaded Iraq with “shock and awe”, compared to the Russians now not firing a single known shot at anyone? And neither Russia nor Ukraine is even a member of NATO. Does NATO have a word to say about the right-wing coup in Ukraine, openly supported by the United States, overthrowing the elected government? Did the hypocrisy get any worse during the Cold War? Imagine that NATO had not been created in 1949. Imagine that it has never existed. What reason could one give today for its creation? Other than to provide a multi-national cover for Washington’s interventions.

One of the main differences between now and the Cold War period is that Americans at home are (not yet) persecuted or prosecuted for supporting Russia or things Russian.

But don’t worry, folks, there won’t be a big US-Russian war. For the same reason there wasn’t one during the Cold War. The United States doesn’t pick on any country which can defend itself.

Cuba … Again … Still … Forever

Is there actually a limit? Will the United States ever stop trying to overthrow the Cuban government? Entire books have been written documenting the unrelenting ways Washington has tried to get rid of tiny Cuba’s horrid socialism – from military invasion to repeated assassination attempts to an embargo that President Clinton’s National Security Advisor called “the most pervasive sanctions ever imposed on a nation in the history of mankind”. http://williamblum.org/aer/read/127But nothing has ever come even close to succeeding. The horrid socialism keeps on inspiring people all over the world. It’s the darnedest thing. Can providing people free or remarkably affordable health care, education, housing, food and culture be all that important?

And now it’s “Cuban Twitter” – an elaborately complex system set up by the US Agency for International Development (USAID) to disguise its American origins and financing, aiming to bring about a “Cuban Spring” uprising. USAID sought to first “build a Cuban audience, mostly young people; then the plan was to push them toward dissent”, hoping the messaging network “would reach critical mass so that dissidents could organize ‘smart mobs’ – mass gatherings called at a moment’s notice – that might trigger political demonstrations or ‘renegotiate the balance of power between the state and society’.” http://williamblum.org/aer/read/127It’s too bad it’s now been exposed, because we all know how wonderful the Egyptian, Syrian, Libyan, and other “Arab Springs” have turned out.

Here’s USAID speaking after their scheme was revealed on April 3: “Cubans were able to talk among themselves, and we are proud of that.” http://williamblum.org/aer/read/127We are thus asked to believe that normally the poor downtrodden Cubans have no good or safe way to communicate with each other. Is the US National Security Agency working for the Cuban government now?

The Associated Press, which broke the story, asks us further to believe that the “truth” about most things important in the world is being kept from the Cuban people by the Castro regime, and that the “Cuban Twitter” would have opened people’s eyes. But what information might a Cuban citizen discover online that the government would not want him to know about? I can’t imagine. Cubans are in constant touch with relatives in the US, by mail and in person. They get US television programs from Miami and other southern cities; both CNN and Telesur (Venezuela, covering Latin America) are seen regularly on Cuban television”; international conferences on all manner of political, economic and social issues are held regularly in Cuba. I’ve spoken at more than one myself. What – it must be asked – does USAID, as well as the American media, think are the great dark secrets being kept from the Cuban people by the nasty commie government?

Those who push this line sometimes point to the serious difficulty of using the Internet in Cuba. The problem is that it’s extremely slow, making certain desired usages often impractical. From an American friend living in Havana: “It’s not a question of getting or not getting internet. I get internet here. The problem is downloading something or connecting to a link takes too long on the very slow connection that exists here, so usually I/we get ‘timed out’.” But the USAID’s “Cuban Twitter”, after all, could not have functioned at all without the Internet.

Places like universities, upscale hotels, and Internet cafés get better connections, at least some of the time; however, it’s rather expensive to use at the hotels and cafés.

In any event, this isn’t a government plot to hide dangerous information. It’s a matter of technical availability and prohibitive cost, both things at least partly in the hands of the United States and American corporations. Microsoft, for example, at one point, if not at present, barred Cuba from using its Messenger instant messaging service. http://williamblum.org/aer/read/127

Cuba and Venezuela have jointly built a fiber optic underwater cable connection that they hope will make them less reliant on the gringos; the outcome of this has not yet been reported in much detail.

The grandly named Agency for International Development does not have an honorable history; this can perhaps be captured by a couple of examples: In 1981, the agency’s director, John Gilligan, stated: “At one time, many AID field offices were infiltrated from top to bottom with CIA people. The idea was to plant operatives in every kind of activity we had overseas, government, volunteer, religious, every kind.” http://williamblum.org/aer/read/127

On June 21, 2012, the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA) issued a resolution calling for the immediate expulsion of USAID from their nine member countries, “due to the fact that we consider their presence and actions to constitute an interference which threatens the sovereignty and stability of our nations.”

USAID, the CIA, the National Endowment for Democracy (and the latter’s subsidiaries), together or singly, continue to be present at regime changes, or attempts at same, favorable to Washington, from “color revolutions” to “spring” uprisings, producing a large measure of chaos and suffering for our tired old world.
